Summer of cricket shines spotlight on our clefts
Hands up if you’ve been enjoying the cricket?
First up, we had another fantastic and fascinating Indian Premier League which ended with the Kolkata Knight Riders lifting the IPL crown.
T20 World Cup goes Stateside
Within days, the action then switched to the USA and the T20 World Cup.
The home of the tournament might have been a bit different, but the standard of cricket has remained as high as ever with some great batting, bowling, some shocks and a thrilling final which saw India lift the trophy.
With England taking on the West Indies and then Sri Lanka for five-day tests followed by Australia visiting for a One Day international series, we are in for another super summer.
Record breaking batsmen
All this great cricket, and some Essex sunshine finally matching our positive mood, has got us reflecting at J.S Wright HQ.
One thing that runs through each of the tournaments and test matches mentioned above is the high standard of cricket – and bats that are described as better than ever.

Our director, Jeremy, attended a few IPL games during his most recent visit to India
The 14 individual centuries scored in the IPL were all scored with our clefts, including Will Jack’s fastest century – in a flying 41 runs.
J.S. Wright clefts on show throughout
This fills us with a huge sense of price and satisfaction. Our English Willow was used in the vast majority of cricket bats at the IPL and they are equally a huge feature more than 13,000 miles away at the World Cup.
Sourcing wood from around 2,000 farms in the UK, our professional and painstaking approach sees us source and dispatch 400,000 clefts all corners of the global bat-making market.

During his visit Jeremy met IPL star Rashabh Pant
That equates to three-quarters of the world’s cricket bats – to India (From TON to Stanford), to Australia (Gray-Nicolls Australia to Kookaburra), to South Africa (D&P Cricket to Bellingham and Smith), to Pakistan (CA Sports to MA Sports), and the UK (B3 Cricket to Chase Cricket) – to name just a few!
Just imagine…your willows could go on to be used by some of the best cricketers across the globe. By simply making sure you do things The Wright Way.
